Invitation Wording

One of the difficult tasks on your list when planning a party, wedding shower, birthday party, or other large event is creating the invitations and sending them out at a proper time. First, the invitation wording that is used is extremely important as it is the first impression that your guests will see concerning the event. Second, depending on the type of event you are planning, you want your invitations wording to grab the readers’ and guests’ attention. If the guests are ‘wowed’ with your invitation wording then there’s more of a chance that they’ll choose to go to the celebration or whatever event you’re inviting them to. There are several ways to accomplish this as well. If you have had bad experiences with creating invitation wording that just didn’t sit well with your potential guests, you should read about the different kinds of ideas you could put into place for the next batch of invitations that you send out.

Grabbing Attention

As mentioned, the first thing that you should try to do is grab their attention. Ideally, this should happen before they even pull out the card. Invitation wording that is written on the front of the mailing envelope or even on the back should stand out in bold letters. In order to craft the invitations wording that you want on the envelope, you want to grab their attention so that they be excited and will have the urgency to open the envelope. For example, for a birthday party invitation outer envelope, you could write: “Guess how old I am?” or “Don’t open this card!” Both of those ideas are creative suggestions that should intrigue the guests you are inviting.

Making it Count

When you’re guests open up the envelope, you have one chance and one chance only to make your invitation wording count. There are all sorts of ways to make it happen, but your ultimate goal should be to impress the readers in order to get them to respond immediately to your invitation. Depending on what type of event or party they are being invited to, you’ll want to evoke feelings of happiness, joy, or even fright!

As you can see, there are plenty of ideas when it comes to crafting your invitations wording. Here are some other suggestions for specific events that you probably have planned or will plan in the near future, such as birthdays and weddings.
